John Kerry nouveau patron du Département d'État ?

 

 

L'une des questions cruciales qui se posent au Président Obama est le remplacement d'Hillary Clinton à la tête du Département d'État américain.

Parmi les spéculations qui courent les couloirs des rédactions et des agences US, on relève les noms de Susan Rice (démocrate, ambassadrice auprès des Nations Unies) et de John Kerry, Président de la Commission des Affaires étrangères au Sénat, proche du Vice-président Joe Biden. Le francophile John Kerry s'est toujours prononcé pour la reconnaissance du génocide des arméniens.

Mais le président peut décider de donner ce poste à l'un des républicains, par exemple, un ancien membre du parti, le sénateur Chuck Hagel ou Richard Lugar, bien qu'ils n'apparaissent pas dans la liste.

Le journal russe Kommersant indique que la fédération souhaiterait voir John Kerry à la tête du département d'État, plutôt que Susan Rice, jugée "opportuniste" et trop "ambitieuse".
