The High Atlas Foundation is partnering with Kahina Giving Beauty and Empowering Women of the Atlas (EWA) to amplify the impact of your donations this month

Lamia Bazir is a HAF Board Member and Founder of Empowering Women in the Atlas. On Saturday April 5th, EWA organized its first fund raising event at the Elkridge Club in Baltimore. The event "Cocktails for a cause: A taste of Morocco" was attended by around 50 people who were inspired by the project and brought EWA one step closer to their $80,000 fundraising goal

The Project: The women of Adghagh seek to construct a solar powered Hammam and an artisanal center. Together these will improve the sanitary, health, economic and psychological well-being of the whole community, while addressing gender inequality. Click here to learn more about this innovative project.

HAF and EWA believe in a grassroots approach to community development and support projects that combine environmentally conscious practices with economic development for marginalized groups, especially women and youth.

For every bottle of KahinaTM Giving Beauty Argan Oil sold throughout the month of April, we will plant an argan tree in a community-managed nursery in Essaouira. Kahina's high quality argan oil is 100% organic and is sustainably harvested in order to preserve the ever-decreasing argan resources in southwest Morocco.

HAF and KahinaTM Giving Beauty seek to protect the trees and replenish the argan forest, thus retaining the raw materials as an economic resource for marginalized Moroccan communities. Read more about the Kahina's environmentally friendly products and practices in the Kahina Giving Beauty Blog.
