Plusieurs cas d'enfants associés aux groupes armés recensés à l'Est de la RDC

Les cas de 25 enfants, tous des garçons, associés aux groupes armés
ont été documentés, pendant la semaine écoulée, par la Mission de
l'ONU pour la stabilisation en République démocratique du Congo
(MONUSCO) à l'Est de ce pays, a indiqué le porte-parole de la mission
onusienne, Charles Antoine Bambara, au cours d'une conférence mercredi
à Kinshasa.

M. Bambara a précisé que le recrutement a été perpétré par les groupes
armés FRPI, ADF, FDLR FOCA, FDLR RUD, Mayi-Mayi Simba, UPCP, PARECO et
Mayi-Mayi KyaghandaYira.

Les victimes, âgées entre 12 et 17 ans, ont été recrutées entre 2011
et 3 mai 2014, en Province Orientale (Nord-est de la RDC) et au
Nord-Kivu (Est), a noté le porte-parole, soulignant que nombreux
d'entre eux avaient moins de 15 ans, ce qui constitue un crime de
guerre.

Ils ont été utilisés comme combattants, escortes, cuisiniers,
porteurs, gardiens des fétiches et pour chercher la nourriture, a-t-il
renseigné.

Les participants au dialogue national tenu en septembre 2013 à
Kinshasa avaient relevé qu'une quarantaine des groupes armés étrangers
et nationaux étaient encore actifs dans l'Est de la RDC,
rappelle-t-on.

Les Forces armées de la RDC (FARDC) mène, depuis quelques années, une
opération de traque contre ces groupes armés. Cette opération,
bénéficie de l'appui logistique de la Mission onusienne.

L'ONU avait en 2013 mis sur pied une brigade d'intervention de 3.000
hommes, constituée des troupes sud-africaines, tanzaniennes et
malawites, en vue de combattre les groupes armés actifs à l'Est de la
RDC.
