Rwanda: les Etats-Unis insistent sur le respect de la Constitution

La sous-secrétaire d'Etat américaine, Sarah Sewall, a dénoncé toute tentative de se maintenir au pouvoir et condamné les tentations de plusieurs chefs d'Etat de la région des Grands Lacs. Et pour le Rwanda, où une réforme de la Constitution est en cours pour permettre à Paul Kagamé de briguer un 3e mandat en 2017, le mot d'ordre pour les Américains reste le même : il faut respecter les Constitutions.


Le Rwanda, s'il a fait des progrès remarquables ces dix dernières années comme l'augmentation de sa croissance économique, l'amélioration de l'alphabétisation ou encore la réduction drastique du taux de mortalité infantile, les progrès sur le plan politique eux n'ont pas suivi. Il y a eux des tentatives claires de bâillonner les voix critiques de la société civile, des médias et de l'opposition politique.
