L'un des piliers fondamentaux de l'impunité dont bénéficie Paul Kagame repose sur une négation délibérée de responsabilités pourtant documentées dans les crimes commis au Rwanda en 1994. Le récit dominant, largement promu et protégé par les États-Unis, présente le Front patriotique rwandais (FPR) exclusivement comme la force ayant mis fin au génocide, sans jamais interroger les crimes commis par ce même mouvement avant, pendant et après 1994.

 

Cette omission n'est pas un simple oubli historique. Elle constitue un choix politique structurant, dont les conséquences continuent de façonner la région des Grands Lacs.

One of the central pillars of the impunity enjoyed by Paul Kagame rests on the deliberate suppression of well-documented responsibilities for crimes committed in Rwanda in 1994. The dominant narrative, widely promoted and protected by the United States, presents the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) exclusively as the force that ended the genocide, while systematically avoiding any serious examination of crimes committed by that same movement before, during, and after 1994.

 

This omission is not a historical oversight. It is a deliberate political choice, the consequences of which continue to shape the Great Lakes region today.

   If Axel Muganwa Rudakubana had been a son of a Hutu, what would have been the news headlines in Kagame's mouthpiece tabloids? Since Axel Rudakubana's parents are Tutsi genocide survivors, and his father, Alphonse Rudakubana, is a nephew of Wellars Gasamagera, the Secretary General of Rwanda's ruling party - RPF, the tragedy that occurred in the UK has not been mentioned by any tabloids or news outlets in Rwanda. However, had Axel Muganwa Rudakubana been a child of a Hutu, or a child of a Tutsi opposition figure, we can all guess the type of headline that would have appeared in the tabloid controlled by Criminal Paul Kagame.
