RWANDA: THE POLITICAL PLATFORM SPEEDS UP FOR CHANGE

Brussels, 13 October 2013
Today the 13th October, 2013 the platform regrouping political organisations AMAHORO People's Congress, Rwanda National Congress RNC and FDU-INKINGI held a public meeting bringing together hundreds of Rwandans including other opposition figures, delegates and members of the civil society. Key leaders represented the platform:
 Mr. Etienne Masozera, President of Amahoro People's Congress and his colleagues Mr. Gallican Gasana, secretary general and Dr. Narcisse Gakuba, Senior Planning Commissioner;
 Dr. Theogene Rudasingwa, RNC overall Coordinator; Mr. Joseph Ngarambe, secretary general; Mr. Jonathan Musonera, Senior Mobilisation commissioner and Mr. Jean Marie Micombero, RNC senior external relations official in EU;
 The FDU-INKINGI coordinating committee was represented by its Coordinator Dr. Nkiko Nsengimana; Mr. Charles Ndereyehe, Political Commissioner; Mr. Sixbert Musangamfura, External Relations Commissioner; Mr. Joseph Bukeye, Mobilisation Commissioner; Madam Madeleine Bicamumpaka, Finances Commissioner and Mr. Michel Niyibizi, Social affairs Commissioner.
 The platform publicly welcomed its new member, the political party Amahoro People's Congress;
 On it's upcoming third anniversary, the platform reviewed its achievements and discussed a joint strategy for a timely change in Rwanda;
 Feedback from the public and campaign for a more active support;
 The plight of Rwandan political prisoners.
The public conference followed a one-day leadership retreat held on 12th October 2013 in Brussels attended by many leaders at all levels. The seminar aimed at assessing the status of the struggle three years after the creation of the platform; at giving more personalized guidance; at harnessing good practices and at discussing ways to speed up the needed change in Rwanda.
The platform commended Mr. Alexis Rudasingwa (RNC Coordinator in Brussels) and Mr. Marcel Sebatware (FDU-INKINGI leader in Belgium) for the successful preparation of both the retreat and the public meeting.
The political platform is proud of its outstanding and continuing achievements.
