Le président rwandais participera ainsi au sommet Union européenne-Afrique.

Le président rwandais Paul Kagame a confirmé sa participation au sommet Union européenne-Afrique qui se tiendra les 2 et 3 avril à Bruxelles, a annoncé le ministre belge de la Coopération au développement, Jean-Pascal Labille. M. Labille a bouclé jeudi une mini-tournée en République démocratique du Congo (RDC) et au Rwanda, en compagnie du commissaire européen au développement, Andris Piebalgs.

Cette visite de quatre jours s'est terminée par un entretien avec le commissaire européen, le ministre belge et le président rwandais. Paul Kagame fera donc partie des chefs d'Etat et de gouvernement qui seront présents début avril à Bruxelles, parmi lesquels figurera également le président zimbabwéen Robert Mugabe.

La participation du président congolais Joseph Kabila reste, elle, incertaine, en dépit de l'invitation reformulée par M. Labille et M. Piebalgs.
